Angry Birds & the Mighty Eagle is a promotional video for Angry Birds released by Rovio Entertainment on February 3, 2010.
Plot
In the animated short film, Red, Jay, and Chuck happily stare at The Eggs. Then, a butterfly accidentally knocks over an egg, making the birds scream and rage at it, thus distracting them. The Bad Piggies then took the opportunity to steal the eggs.
After defeating the butterfly, the birds look at the nest and scream in shock when they are surprised to realise that the eggs have disappeared. They scream again when they are surprised to see that the Bad Piggies stolen them, so they then go after them to get their eggs back, in the process of destroying several small pig forts, then the pigs were eventually forced to retreat into a large steel fortified base invulnerable to the bird's effort.
Suddenly, Chuck pulled out a can of Sardines as an idea to get help from the Mighty Eagle. Then, Jay nudges the can to Red, who shrieks in fear. He then went to the cave where Mighty Eagle dwells and asked for assistance while offering the sardines, sweating like crazy. Mighty Eagle then looks at the can and accepts the deal.
The Chef Pig came out of the base, later on, scouting. He was suddenly knocked on the head by the sardine can. He looked around, saw the can of sardines, and the shadow of the eagle appears. The chef panics, squeals, runs inside, takes the eggs out of the fortress, and waves a white flag, indicating a surrender, but unfortunately for him, he got crushed by the Mighty Eagle who smashes the brick house. The eggs were finally safe and retrieved to the birds.
After the logo, Mighty Eagle reveals himself (in dark shades) in front of the camera, unleashing his battle cry as a stinger plays.
Trivia
- This was originally the most viewed Angry Birds video on YouTube, only to be beaten by Angry Birds | Top 10 Hatchlings Cutest Moments, making it the 2nd most viewed.
- Bomb is only seen in the concept art of this video.
- Some of the scene is somehow similar to the original cinematic trailer, only with the mosquito replacing a butterfly, and Bomb not present.
- The font used during the “ANGRY BIRDS” logo in the end is similar to the one used in the Flock Favorites trailer. Red flying to make the words however, is similar to the Angry Birds Free ending cutscene (version 1.6.0 only) where the player can purchase the full version of the game.
