Qui-Gon Jinn (also known as Quail-Gon Jinn in several Angry Birds Star Wars Books) (born 80 BBY on Coruscant; died 32 BBY on Naboo) is a bird in Angry Birds Star Wars II. He is the master of Obi-Wan Kenobi and he has the ability to use a green lightsaber to destroy objects and pigs. He is defeated and killed by Darth Maul on Battle of Naboo. Anakin Skywalker Jedi Padawan has the same exact ability.

Appearance[]

He is a brownish white bird with a dark belly and eyebags, brown long hair that leads to a beard, brown moustache and goatee, yellow large curved beak, small eyes and brown eyebrows. He wears a brown kimono and a dark brown jacket with a lightsaber.

Gameplay[]

He first appears in level B1-1 of Naboo Invasion. Qui-Gon doesn't have an original ability, which never actually had happened to characters in the Angry Birds universe. Instead, his ability is the same one as Luke in the original Star Wars game. He swings a moderately strengthened lightsaber in a 360 loop, which can instantly defeat pigs, shred glass, destroy/damage wood, and harm the metal. He is not very strong and can demolish very few bricks, glass easiest, and slightly damage the metal.

It is noted that again, characters can use their ability for a very short period once they hit a surface or structure before turning into a corpse.

Boss battle[]

Qui Gonn Enemy

Qui-Gon in P2-20

Qui-Gon Jinn appears as an enemy in two levels of Angry Birds Star Wars II. The first is level 20 of Escape to Tatooine. He appears from the spaceship with his green lightsaber once all other birds have been destroyed. Even though he falls off the ship after being defeated, the following cutscene he still appears in the ship. He also appears in level 20 of Battle of Naboo along with Obi-Wan. He will slash any blocks that get near him with his green lightsaber. Once he is defeated, he is considered dead in the game's canon.

In boss battles, Qui-Gon is rather skilled in using his lightsaber. He can destroy bricks and pigs that go near him vigorously, so an easy way to beat him is to overwhelm him with multiple blocks, perhaps hanging above so that he does not have time to destroy them all and takes on the damage. It is not suggested that the player directly uses his/her character's ability on him, as he can deflect lasers and the playable pigs.

Personality[]

Qui-Gon is a bold bird who prefers to do things his own way. He is never happy to go along with others, everyone has trouble telling him what to do. This Jedi Bird often takes on dangerous missions others would not do. Jinn is quite good at feeling the force as he was the one who saw that the force was strong with Redkin Skywalker / Anakin Skywalker. However, he did not know that Redkin will be an evil Sith in the end.

The evil Count Dodo (or Dooku) was Quail-Gon's teacher before he went to the Pork Side. Although he is very experienced, he was slayed by Darth Maul. He was shocked, as the Jedi thought that the Sith was extinct. Although usually grumpy, he shows patience towards Obi-Wan, who is his student.

Trivia[]

  • He is the only character to have an on-screen death.
